Subject: | bash crash with large number of files |
Date: | Fri, Dec 24 1999 20:40:34 -0500 (EST) |
I'm having trouble with bash under b20.1 (full.exe) that I can't solve via FAQs, etc. The problem repeats over both of my PCs. I have a directory of 270 files over which I attempt to run a piped command, for example mygrep "foo" | vi - & The result is always an illegal operation from Windows. Directories with smaller (less than 256) files do not generate the bash failure. The problem also occurs with xargs when dealing with large number of files. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.
