My howto on building mingw compiler is available at: http://www.xraylith.wisc.edu/~khan/software/gnu-win32/ http://www.delorie.com/howto/ Note that you can only build mingw native tools using a cross-compiler; I suppose you could use Cygwin to target mingw, but a Linux machine will be much less painful.
