Unforunately, // doesn't get interpreted well when it is part of an
argument to gcc.  You need to use mount so you can just use single
slashes...

Also, beta 16 cannot rebuild itself without some custom hacking.
Future betas shouldn't have this problem except maybe under Win 95.
