8. Session Management Commands

Perhaps the most useful feature of screen is the way it allows the user to move a session between terminals, by detaching and reattaching. This also makes life easier for modem users who have to deal with unexpected loss of carrier.

8.1 Detach    Disconnect screen from your terminal.

8.2 Power Detach    Detach and log out.

8.3 Lock    Lock your terminal temporarily.

8.4 Multiuser Session    Changing number of allowed users.

8.5 Session Name    Rename your session for later reattachment.

8.6 Suspend    Suspend your session.

8.7 Quit    Terminate your session.
