Automake currently only includes full support for C, C++ (see section 9.8 C++ Support), Fortran 77 (see section 9.10 Fortran 77 Support), and Java
(see section 9.11 Java Support). There is only rudimentary support for other
languages, support for which will be improved based on user demand.
Some limited support for adding your own languages is available via the
suffix rule handling; see 18.2 Handling new file extensions.
