@subheading Description

The @code{getnetbyname()} function returns a @samp{netent} structure
for the line from @code{networks} (@pxref{networks}) that matches the network
@var{name}.

The @samp{netent} structure is defined in @samp{<netdb.h>} as follows:

The members of the @samp{netent} structure are:

The official name of the network.

A zero terminated list of alternative names for the network.

The type of the network number; always AF_INET.

The network number in host byte order.

a NULL pointer if an error occurs or the end of the file is reached.
