Message-ID: <20170913233147.GA26680@recycle.lbl.gov> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.21 (2010-09-15) Reply-To: geda-user AT delorie DOT com Friends - I think this topic has come up before, but somehow it is not in the FAQ (at http://wiki.geda-project.org/geda:faq). Are there people -- small companies or individual consultants -- who will use gaf for contract board design? I personally have worked with non-gaf board designers, e.g., shipping netlists generated with gschem to a PADS layout person. It's kind of a pain. Communication barriers would be lower and quality-of-results would likely be higher if I could work with a board designer that used gschem and pcb (or pcb-rnd, or even KiCad). Ideally the FAQ would have a (non-stale) list of such people. If people want to keep their name off the main wiki for anti-spam reasons, for instance, go ahead and send me PM, and give me guidance about how many of my friends I can tell about you. ;-) In my case at least, I'm looking for an organization sufficiently formal that they can offer a quote based on an incomplete schematic, and take a government purchase order. Reviewing and completing the schematic would be part of the paid work. - Larry
