Their functionality seems still to be present, but, for example, the common and useful shortcut function “packages” no longer exists in your branch. None of the custom back ends that I’ve published on gedasymbols and github work with your branch. I've hopefully resurrected all functions mentioned at [1] (especially for you ;-)) as well as four variables including `packages'. Though I would discourage using of such top-level variables as `packages' because my goal is to make schematics first-class objects and use them and their sub-objects instead of strings and thus simplify backends and make all internals more abstract and versatile.
