I lived with it until about 6 months ago, then finally tried downloading the latest stable version of pcb, and life became better in many ways :) So installing the latest stable version fixed that problem for me, I hope you are successful. Oh and there's a script somewhere for making sure that all pcb's dependencies are first installed too, that might need running first, sorry to be vague...
