It is connected in gschem but not in pcb and there are neither a warning nor an error message. Since it block lower case letter from use in net name it does not seems like a very good choice. Some kind of escape sequence for special meaning would probably be a better choice although to keep it out of the refdes would be the best unless there are to many other disadvantages. Now I know it and it's and then it is not a big problem. Neither do I expect anyone to change it now but for the long run it might be a good idea.
