Neither do me, I can draw any circuit and adding symbols are simple. I have however indentified some problems with the attribute handling in the workflow. It is probably hard to add workflow dependent attribute handling without bloating gschem but plugins might be a solution. > Gschem is *complete*. What I mean by that is that there is no circuit topology it cannot represent. Correct gschem is complete in the sense it can represent any circuit. > Gschem is *productive*. I’ve drawn about 1000 schematics in gschem over 14 years. And the thing is, EE is a sideline to me (I’m a physicist). I don’t find I need to spend much time in gschem: when I’m designing I spend a lot more time in Chrome, looking up datasheets, pinouts, parts availability etc. Yes to draw the lines and symbols in gschem is fast and simple. > From where I sit, the critical problems of gEDA lie in pcb. The “show-stopper” is that pcb is *not* complete, and I see no prospect that it ever will be. I think it could be but it will take time. The big problem I see is time spent on pin assignement and BOM generation but this is no better on commercial products. The commercial products are good but my schematics are usually simple. I just need a graphical representation of the circuit, draw graphics for the layers on the circuit board and a BOM. Nicklas Karlsson
