.pcb files are already pretty self-contained and ready for 
re-distribution without any external dependencies.

.sch may depend on external symbols. To fix this, use gschlas utility:

   $ gschlas -e design.sch

It will 'embed' symbols inside design.sch (in-place, rewriting original 
file).
