I'm currently merging the KicadModule2GEDA and KicadSymbol2GEDA functionality into translate2geda. The translate2geda utility will also convert vendor BXL files. translate2geda worked quite happily with Kicad formats exported from madparts.org the last time I tried. Someone needs to write some python so that madparts can also export geda formatted files. Regards, Erich. I can't be bothered creating an account on snap e= da, but it appears to export in both Eagle and Kicad format, which my utili= ties will convert, in a mostly lossless way, except for polygonal SMD pads = (occasionally seen in Eagle libs, the utility will flag it), and Bezier lin= es (rare, not yet encountered in the wild).

I'= m currently merging the KicadModule2GEDA and KicadSymbol2GEDA functionality= into translate2geda. The translate2geda utility will also convert vendor B= XL files.

I haven't tried translate2geda.=C2=A0 Does it work for symbols a= nd/or footprints from
www= .snapeda.com?

Although gEDA could certainly use better symbol/footprints libs and search,=
I think we're really unlikely to beat snapeda (for libs) or madparts.org= =C2=A0 (for
creation).=C2=A0 The return on graceful interface work is probably the high= est of
any gEDA-related work, with the possible exception of documentation
cleanup.
