Still 1000 posts to the list don't result in a single line of code. Maybe gEDAhead fell on fruitfuil soil somewhat by accident. Berts hack session was indeed at the right time. IMHO it's moot to search for the exact cause. Fact is, such pushes didn't happen the years before. Neither with hack sessions nor by other ways. The gap between just talking about to actually writing and committing code was bridged. People joined, were accepted, felt accepted.
