Looks like DocuWiki is more vulnerable than MediaWiki here. The wiki at reprap.org, a rather big and prominent one, suffers only some 5 to 20 spambot accounts per day. They don't really harm other than taking a bit disk space away. Automated posts went almost entirely away when I disallowed to add external links on the first 5 edits of a new user. Contrary, URL blacklisting does _not_ help.
