Gnetlist can’t even see the segments, only the glommed-together nets. And then, nets aren’t “elements”. One useful thing you could do if gnetlist could peruse the net segments and their attributes is to detect renamed nets in hierarchy, and make appropriate aliases for SPICE. It’s a pain to have to manually trace a net up two levels to figure out its name in order to plot its voltage. DRC could also detect schematic-level shorts with this capability.
