Personally, I dont really mind staying with an old version, although 20110918 certainly has more "user-value". The principal reason for me to install the new release was to get things ready for building and making available an rpm package of pcb (and gerbv) for Mageia (I am picking up geda tools for maintenance - doing this with an obsolete version would be a pity). The conservative approach would be to just wait and see whether the problem is reproduced elsewhere (for instance when Mandriva will use 20110918 for an update package; but Mandriva just published a new release, and it will probably be quite a while until they think about updating). I also had a rapid look at Fedora and Ubuntu - both appear to have not yet released a stable package with PCB 20110918. Which distros do? Being conservative means shelving the problem for months (and not having a pcb package for Mageia 2 that is scheduled for this winter). Is there a debugging option I could activate to get more input on what is happening?
