Just a heads-up, unless their plans have changed, I believe this is due to be re-written this next coming KiCAD development cycle, as a more S-expression based format, like their new PCB file format. Converter from the old might still be relevant - but converting from the new might be more future-proof. I believe they are also intending to add arbitrary attribute support with this change. Peter
