This kind of user maybe does not have the skills to pick and selectively apply patches available on a git repository - maybe he just sees what the package manager of his Linux distro has installed. Or he has the skills, but wants to concentrate on the real job of design he wants to do. Does all this mean that this kind of user is getting more and more out of the focus of what is being developed? What should my reaction as a maintainer for these tools on one of the Linux distributions be?
