I think I mentioned this already some years ago...

Is it really a good idea to put ALL your symbols and footprints to
gedasymbols, resulting in names like 

poti_thru.sym

10kpot.fp

with no more specific documentation.
May be fine for your personal backup, but is it helpful for other
people?
