(mingw32, djgpp) I can't comment on updating mingw32, since I haven't done any testing or bug-fixing on XP for it. But we had to add workarounds for bugs in XP to make it work - which is why you need to upgrade your images. The http://clio.rice.edu/djgpp/win2k/main_203.htm URL gives the details; in some cases there are workarounds - but the best thing to do is update your images (and thank Microsoft for providing so many new bugs in the new and improved product).
