Oh well, rejected again :-) As far as 'maintained manually' is concerned, using 4dos I can get a useful directory listing with time and description with: [1] c:\cfiles\newpage\download>type mkindex.btm echo %=%= >index.htm dir /zkmh /[!index.htm mkindex.btm] >>index.htm echo %=<%=/pre%=>%=<%=/html%=> >>index.htm and the html wrappers are not needed for the mini-faq. To use such a directory would have to hold only current releases, and older ones would have to be moved to a sub-directory. For what it is worth, I have a \dnld\djgpp directory that holds uninstalled zips. To install, I move them into \djgpp and run an install batch, which unzips *.zip and moves the zip to \djgpp\zipsused\. I also have \djgpp\zipsused\oldzips\ to allow me to back up. I also do a "zip -o zipname" to set the file dates on zips newly downloaded. At any rate the result is that my installation contains: > > [1] c:\cfiles\newpage\download>dir /zkmh \djgpp\zipsused > oldzips 3-28-02 5:29 > bnu2112b.zip 2707938 7-15-01 11:22 Basic Assembler, linker > bsh204b.zip 454086 6-30-01 22:18 GNU Bash shell 2.04 for DJGPP V2 > bsn129b.zip 818148 9-11-01 0:22 Bison - YACC equivalent > cdecl25b.zip 107577 8-04-98 17:54 > cdecl25s.zip 25719 8-04-98 17:52 > dif272b.zip 293675 1-18-02 3:22 GNU diffutils 2.72, DJGPP v2 > djdev203.zip 1538147 4-06-00 9:37 DJGPP basic development kit > faq230b.zip 679865 2-02-00 23:21 Master FAQ for DJGPP > fil40b.zip 1353395 9-17-01 12:36 GNU fileutils 4.0 for DJGPP V2 > flx254b.zip 192733 5-22-00 1:23 FLEX - LEX equivalent > gcc2953b.zip 1973168 3-29-01 7:39 Basic GCC compiler > gdb511b.zip 1450671 2-26-02 17:01 GDB 5.11 for DJGPP > gmp401b.zip 576045 2-03-02 0:04 GNU Big Numbers 4.01 for DJGPP > gpc2-1-4.zip 2053419 3-25-02 6:39 GPC 2.1 RC4 on GCC 2.953 for DJGPP > gpp2953b.zip 1796810 3-29-01 7:39 C++ compiler > gwk306b.zip 539175 1-10-02 9:37 GAWK 3.06 for DJGPP > mak3791b.zip 268854 7-26-00 7:39 Make - processes makefiles > rh1478b.zip 2080025 11-13-00 8:55 RHIDE Integrated Development > txi40b.zip 646656 1-14-00 12:52 Info File viewer > txt20b.zip 1098706 9-17-01 12:45 GNU Textutils 2.0 for DJGPP V2 Maybe these techniques will be of use to somebody, or they will improve on them. -- Chuck F (cbfalconer AT yahoo DOT com) (cbfalconer AT XXXXworldnet DOT att DOT net) Available for consulting/temporary embedded and systems.
