There is no DJGPP 3.03.

I guess You used DJGPP 2.03 and GCC-3.0.3. There are known problems
building Allegro with gcc-3.0, gcc-3.0.1 and gcc-3.0.2 which are now fixed
in gcc-3.0.3.

Try building Allegro with gcc-2.95.3 and see whether it fixes the problem
