To my limited knowledge, you won't find anything like this in the C++ standard library documentation, simply because it doesn't contain any such thing. The functionality you need is currently only offered by the system-dependent part of the C (not C++) library provided by DJGPP. Don't worry: you can call those from C++, too. But they won't work on many other platforms --- if you want that, you'll have to look into the PDcurses library.
