It gives me great pleasure to announce the release 2 of the DJGPP port of Fileutils 4.0. This release is a minor bugfix release. Here are the changes over release 1: - readme.dos now describes the DOS-specific features added as part of the DJGPP port. - 'ls' will no longer list hidden files unless the all files ('-a') option is also used. - 'ls' will no longer display a spurious escape sequence when LS_COLORS is set to an invalid string. To use the Fileutils programs, you only need to download the binary distribution. You may also want to download the documentation distribution, to get the documentation in HTML, PostScript and DVI formats. If you want to examine or rebuild the Fileutils sources, you need to download the source distribution. The Fileutils port is available here: http://www.simtel.net/gnudlpage.php?product=/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/fil40b.zip&name=fil40b.zip http://www.simtel.net/gnudlpage.php?product=/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/fil40d.zip&name=fil40d.zip http://www.simtel.net/gnudlpage.php?product=/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/fil40s.zip&name=fil40s.zip Please read the file gnu/filutil4.0/djgpp/readme.dos in whichever distribution you download. This contains important instructions on installing and using Fileutils. A lot of credit for this port must go to Eli Zaretskii, since he provided me with patches that actually did much of the port for me, and also for his advice. Thanks also to Jim Meyering, Tim Van Holder, Jason Green and Laurynas Biveinis for their help. Thanks also to the djgpp-workers. If you encounter any problems with this port, please feel free to contact me by e-mail (address below). I also try to read the DJGPP newsgroup, comp.os.msdos.djgpp, on a regular basis. Thanks, bye, -- Richard Dawe http://www.phekda.freeserve.co.uk/richdawe/
