Some of them come with man pages which - having a UNIX background - I highly appreciate. But... Could the nice people who package the DJGPP distribution *.zip-s make sure that the files have the correct format, correct extension and end up in the right directory! Most of the man pages provided are already processed by groff, so they should be stored in catX or catXX directories. The man page system is devided into sections. The section designators consist of a decimal number and an optional letter. The designator (as found in the file) should match the file extension and the file should be stored in the directory for this designator. E.g.: A groff-processed 1n man page should have a .1n extension and be stored in man/cat1n A 5 man page should have a .5 extension and be stored in man/man5 etc. Currently man pages have all kinds of extensions and end up "somewhere" in the man directory subtree. Fortunately Eli's man utility will find them wherever they are and whatever format they are in :-) ... as long as there are no multiple entries. As far as I can see this is a DJGPP problem. The original packages usually install the man pages correctly (on UNIX). Regards, Tony -- Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net
