Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Reply-To: djgpp AT delorie DOT com Hello to all, my name is Nur, I am a 18 years old female and I make curently my Abitur in Germany. In some month I will begin to study Informatic in Freiburg and I like to be prepared. For the first time I have some Question, because I like to learn, how to programm Internet-Applications under Dos and Linux. 1) I have a 486dx4/100 with 32 MByte of Ram and a 540 MByte Harddisk. I think, it will be enough, - or ? 2) I will programm under plain Dos but I do not know, what I realy need. The ZIP-Picker confuse me. Which files Do I need ? 3) If I programm under Dos, can I use my sources under Linux too ? 4) Is there a possibility to programm Applications under Dos, Win (16/32)and Linux with the same design (fixed width is ok, e.g. 640x480) 5) My Server-Apps are running at the prompt/console but for my Client-Apps I like to use graphical GUI's and not text GUI's. 6) If I use Watt-32 under Dos, ist there an equivalent under Linux ? Please note, that I habe no experience with programming and I am beginner and I like to use C as my base programming language. Thanks Nur
