E.g., given an RCS $Id$ that expands to Revision #.## yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss user I would like to set Texinfo variables as follows @set EDITION #.## @set UPDATED yyyy/mm/dd I do not see any string manipulation features in Texinfo; perhaps this could be done with a Texinfo macro...?
