All I know is that after a while they start working ... ps - I good trick to improve things in dos is to put the following in config.sys SHELL=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /P /E:32768 /U:255 /L:1024 which gives it far more memory than usual, which causes alot of problems in dos to stop, for example if you use make.exe (cos you are a coder etc), it increases the command line length lets make exicute gcc blar blar blar ... even if the line wraps 4 times, where as normally it would get cut off after one and a half lines.)
