If you extract the zip files on winnt with a long file name aware unzip program, and then try to access those files by their long names using a dos program, it will fail. The reason is because winnt doesn't provide the interface for dos programs to access long files. The file that the info reader is looking for is libc.info which doesn't conform to the 8.3 short name format, so it gets ashort name alias (like libc~1.inf for example). You will have to change the file name that the info reader looks for to the short name alias for libc.info in order to read it. Hope this helps Marp
