Might the above upgrades cause trouble for them? I don't see in this list any package that would have trouble if you upgrade djdev and gcc. However, I would recommend to upgrade at least Make and Bash, since the versions you have are too old (and, at least for Bash, there are known nasty bugs in those versions).
