Additionaly, to the advice you already got, you may want to try GRX23,
which is downloadable from simtel or preferably from 
http://www.techfak.uni-kiel.de/~hsc/GRX/, where you also find an update.
The installation is not as easy as it could be. You have to get the 
patches of Ian Miller, that are mentioned in the DJGPP FAQ, if you use 
a recent gcc (2.95.2). When you unpack the zip, you probably want to 
cd to the contrib directory, before unpacking. Then install the update
and the patches.

Grx can draw the things you mentioned on various printers.
