There is a win32 console mode, after all. Mmm... there's a fair chunk of support in the Linux kernel (mostly to make vm86 mode work). Also, I think it requires a lot of Linux/BSD features beyond the standard Unix stuff provided by Cygnus. So I think the alterations would be quite large.
