INT 13h/AH=48h is nowhere in the Ralph Brown's interrupt list that I have here. My interrupt list is rather old, but I'm sure I haven't seen any call like this anywhere. The "read long" what you want is INT 13h/AH=0ah. Try that and I guess it _should_ work.
