(EMU10K1). Allegro doesn't like it when you have an EMU10K1 chip and set your MIDI card to raw SB, but it doesn't complain when using the MPU-401 driver. At least, that's what I've noticed. Your mileage may vary. As for porting games, I don't think you'll have that problem if you use the MPU-401 driver. The quality isn't up to snuff but it's decent enough to warrant use.
