TIA again :) Hans-Bernhard Broeker on 05/11/99 09:33:47 To: Sakis Platsas/LAKE cc: djgpp AT delorie DOT com Subject: Re: configure and djgpp In article <7vsfr6$coj$1 AT scotty DOT tinet DOT ie> you wrote: > I assume that direct compilation of autoconf-ed Makefiles is impossible in > djgpp (correct me if I'm wrong) You are, at least in your conclusion that you would need to switch to Windows, for this to work. Quite a number of current DJGPP's GNU software packages *are* compiled using the autoconf-generated makefile. The drawback is that you usually have to patch the 'configure' shell script in various places, and/or start it in a rather specialized DJGPP Bash session, using flags like 'PATH_EXPAND' and 'SYSROOT' to make DJGPP Bash behave more Unix-centrically than it usually would. -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (broeker AT physik DOT rwth-aachen DOT de) Even if all the snow were burnt, ashes would remain.
