Yes. Installing smartdrv rectifies the problem.

Well, I wasn't really complaining about the slow down or asking for a solution,
thus I didn't think it neccessary to post the information. Thanks for the tips
though. I had plans to read the FAQ all the way through again soon, so I'll
check it up then.
