Using Cygwin adds a distinct *nix flavor that may not please people coming from a DOS/Windows background. Technically, I did have a problem with the Cygwin 'make' truncating long lines. This may well have been a setup problem on my part, and inadvertantly mixing incompatible versions of make and bash. MingW32 is neutral if used alone. If used with Cygwin, it is possible to set your environment variables in such a way as to include the wrong files, but this is a pretty obscure error. I had no trouble with setting up djgpp in my autoexec.bat, and just using a separate .bat to set up Ming when I wanted to do windows work. -- Bear Technology Making Montana safe for Grizzlies http://people.montana.com/~bowman/
