If Rainer (the author) : would just release a new version that fixes the problems that he : inadvertantly created, then all would be well with the world. : I know that sounds cold, but that's the way it is. You can't release a : package into the public arena and expect people to work things out for them : selfs, it needs to be tech-supported and revised. Rainer should take the : feedback on this newsgroup as a hint. : The reason it's still suggested in the zip picker is a) nobody has bothered : changeing it and b) the other compilers (mingw32 and cygwin) aren't related : to DJGPP, whereas RSXNTDJ is (supposed to be) a DJGPP add-on. Have you been in contact with him? Perhaps he doesn't have time reading this newsgroup? Then he needs to alerted to these problems. Perhaps he doesn't have time updating RSXNTDJ? Then he needs some help with that. As for publicly releasing a package, it's certainly possible doing that without any supporting or updating. One example (it seems) is RSXNTDJ. Another is DJGPP. That fact that you get quick support/help is on mercy of people taking of their free time and being nice helping people out. And that there is an fantastic FAQ for DJGPP. As you seem to know RSXNTDJ, perhaps you could write up a document explaining the problems and their solutions with regard to RSXNTDJ. Then submitting it to Eli for inclusion in the FAQ. This is surely much more productive than writing posts complaining about RSXNTDJ. In short, _do_ something instead of complaining. Right, MartinS
