These are all valid reasons, but there is one more. In many cases, the full and comprehensive answer to a question is too long to post here, and posting an abridged version always bears the risk of omitting the part that is relevant for the case in point. In contrast, the material in the FAQ is well-thought and is constantly improved based on feedback from this forum.
