I just installed djgpp and emacs in my Dell PC. I'm pretty sure that I used the correct unzipping program. I had 2 problems before that I solved but I don't understand why or how. I had a lot of trouble with the compiler unable to find the iostream.h (and streambuf.h). I also had trouble using emacs. When I call emacs editor, it immediately quits and goes back to DOS prompt screen. According to documentation, the line LFN=y in djgpp.env should be set for everything to work properly. I set the LFN=y and neither the C++ compiler nor emacs worked. When I set LNF=n, the compiler and emacs works fine. The compiler can now find iostream.h and my emacs works wonders. Can someone explain this? Thanks in advance. Charles J. Ju ju AT ams DOT sunysb DOT edu
