I have often considered this myself, but recognized it is much too large an undertaking for a single person with limited time to devote. AFAIK, there is no good Open Source X server for Windows. EXceed is making a fortune in this market. Also, given the high level of DOS/Windows expertise in this group, I would suggest that participants consider contributing to the Linux WINE project. The ability to reliably run WIN32 apps without a M$ OS would benefit many. This could also form the basis for a free OS based in the WIN32 API.
