I personally miss dos when it was in it's prime.. if an OS was to be written, it should be compatible with FAT 32, etc, and be reasonably small... this way people can run it dual-boot, therefore saving the ms aspect for their families, etc, while also being able to use the OS.. Trying to compete with windows and linux would be pretty much next to impossible, so if you can't beat em, work with them :) I'm pretty new to programming with C, but as i've seen with djgpp, the people who coded it (I'm pretty sure it was a group effort) did a very good job, and I'm sure a pretty superior OS can come from the combined skills of all who are willing to code :) (sorry for babbling) Fang
