Most people have no trouble installing DJGPP at all. It's only those who don't read all those README files that have problems ;-). > but anyway: I have just installed DJGPP, I've changed > autoexec.bat, and I want to use allegro, but I can't find the file > "liballeg.a", and everyone seems to say that allegro needs to be compiled > first. How do I do this? (I don't know understand the makefiles). Just follow the instructions, you don't need to understand Makefiles, since somebody has already prepared them. I believe the instructions say something like ``install the packages, then chdir to the Allegro source directory and type "make"''. But PLEASE read the instructions, don't just do the above because I said so!
