I also found out what I was doing wrong.. I remembered that on my video card, I can't use GFX_AUTODETECT (unless I like a certain rainbow colored palette) unless I have UNIVBE loaded. After loading UNIVBE (or changing it to GFX_S3 for my Diamond 2000 Pro card), the palette looked right, multi-color font and all. I was soooo pissed when I fixed the problem, I banged my head on the keyboard a few times. :) It's still amazing how one little thing like this will just make your day...sigh. I think I'll go back to graphics for a while. :) - Steve (who wonders if anyone needs artwork for their game(s))
