If I have a custom datafile property defined for a datafile object, using the grabber, how the heck do I acces this property's value inside my program???? I've tried the get_datafile_property function but I just do not understand the docs for it, and I've tried every combination of stuff for the "type" parameter, but it just keeps returing empy strings - it NEVER returns a value no matter what type id I give it! I have a property called "XDIM" defind for the particular object I want it associated with. I can access this property just fine in the grabber, but when I get into my program HOW do i get this value back? XDIM is set to 98, HOW do I access this value in the program?! This problem is driving me wild 'cause I tried for about four hours before giving up - this part of the excellent Allegro docs is horribly obscure and unclear. SUMMARY: The object is a binary data type object ("DATA") - I want to store an XDIM and YDIM property for this object using the grabber, and then access these XDIM and YDIM properties inside my program, just like the grabber access them when I reload the datafile into the grabber - the grabber source is too complex I do not understand it (believe me, I have looked 'cause it obviously does EXACTLY what I want - store a custom property value for a standard Allegro datafile object and then retrieve it later) How? Please reply by email if at all possible - fanx!!! -- Spawned By Rylan Is truth beauty or beauty truth? http://home.intekom.com/rylan/index.html
