I've tried ALL COM ports on diagnostics programs - they are all fine but no modem can be found. The only way this system will see that modem is if I start up from a cold boot, and hit F8 at the startup, choosing to walk through the start-up routine and end up at a c:\ prompt or to just go straight to "prompt only". Then it works fine (piss me off ...) Anyone have a handle on this? please reply...
