X-Authentication-Warning: grimer.diku.dk: panic owned process doing -bs Date: Fri, 2 Oct 1998 10:16:08 +0200 (METDST) From: Arne Glenstrup To: Eli Zaretskii cc: djgpp AT delorie DOT com Subject: Re: mkdir chokes on `i386-msd' directory name In-Reply-To: Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8BIT Hi again, I'm sorry to say that my problem description was rather vague; it turned out that the real problem was in using `mkdir' for directories whose absolute path names would be longer than approximately 66 characters. I.e., if Ithe current directory is /23456789/12345678/01234567/90123456/89012345/78901234/67890123/ then `mkdir 56789012' fails. I believe similar things apply to `rm -r'. I am doing all this from bash, and have not tried gmkdir yet.
