I finally got DJGPP working for a period of time....that's the good part....the bad part is after rebooting, my computer went haywire and could not find its win.com file along with the edit.exe dos file and a ton of *.vxd files. I had to reinstall most of the computer's software. Here is exactly what i did prior to this incident: Initially, I did the following after installing DJGPP to get it working: In an ms-dos window i entered: echo set PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN >> c:\autoexec.bat echo set DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV >> c:\autoexec.bat in the djgpp.env file i entered the following: [rhide] RHIDE_TYPED_LIBS_DJGPP.cc=stdcxx LFN=y After doing the above, DJGPP was working fine and i was very happy, so i rebooted and was greeted with the friendly "Mostly-Shit-DOS" message: win.com cannot be found or something like that. so....I changed directories to the command folder, typed win and I was bombarded with *.vxd missing over and over; I could not even enter windows in safe-mode. Needless to say this is a bit annoying and I would REALLY like any help i can get from anyone here who thinks they can help! Also, I'm completely confused by the existence of multiple autoexec.bat files on one computer! Please Please Please Please help me......I really dont want my computer self-destructing again. Thanks, Neotronica
