In DOS the default DPMI host (shipped with djgpp) is CWSDPMI, it supports up to 256Mb of virtual + 256Mb of physical (if I remmember well). By default I think the limit is 128Mb of maximun swap, so in systems with 30Mb of physical (and enough space in disk) you'll get 158Mb (more or less what you see). Under W9x the DPMI host is Wincrap itself so the limits are impossed by some dead brain people from M$. The limit of the W9x DPMI host is 64Mb but by default is less, you must edit the preferences of your DOS box and change default by 65535 in the DPMI setting. That's very well explained in the FAQ.
